MEGAN MCDERMOTT

Vintage Bible Battles Card Game — 1970s

The instructions allude
to Divine Intervention cards,
and I want to collect
all of them. Or: I want
to give them all away.
Or: I want to throw them
all out, after feeding
them one-by-one to
a shredder so God can’t
recognize my requests,
stays absent, doesn’t shake
me up. Or: I want to cover
them in glue, stick them
to my body, the grass
outside my apartment,
my cell phone, name
that She has intervened
here and here and here.
